Online letter service, Leavealetter.com, is celebrating its partnership with the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, based in Farnham, by creating a web link: www.leavealetter.com/pth. This web link can be accessed directly through the Phyllis Tuckwell homepage.
Leavealetter.com will make a £1 donation to the hospice for every person that registers with them via the site. This way, Leavealetter.com will know how many donations have been made and can pay the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice accordingly.
Angie Mills, co-founder of Leavealetter.com, said: “I am delighted about this new partnership with the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. I have lost a loved one to cancer and this hospice provided us with vital care and support during a very difficult time.
"We feel the service gives people a chance to write down all their thoughts and emotions to make things easier for family and loved ones in the future. In this way, we can help to support individuals as well as the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. We are pleased other charities have also taken up this offer of support"
"The hospice supports over 100 people daily and donations are vital for providing the care needed for patients and their families. We urge everyone to leave a letter because you never know what will happen tomorrow. I’m sure that together we will grow from strength to strength."
The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is designed to offer Specialist Palliative Care to those with Cancer and other life limiting illnesses and their loved ones. The Hospice provides all care free of charge and supports people at home, in the community or at the hospice itself.
Sue Wilkinson Community Fundraiser at the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, said: "Receiving less than 16% NHS funding, donations are crucial to the running of the hospice and therefore the donations received from Leavealetter.com are gratefully appreciated. We are delighted to be working alongside Jill and Angie to help support people at this difficult time, in whatever way they choose."
Jill Green and Angie Mills founded leavealetter.com in October 2006. They had been friends for many years and decided to create this business after both experienced personal loss. They decided that a memento in the form of a letter sent to a loved one could play a major part in their healing process and decided to set up a website to help encourage people to do this.
Supporting cancer charities has always been important to Jill and Angie. Jill also ran in the Guildford leg of the Race for Life on Sunday 10 June 2007 to raise money for cancer research.
www.leavealetter.com is a Surrey based company enabling people to leave a lasting memento through the website. Letters can be retrieved by loved ones via the website through a simple verification procedure, giving them lasting memories and messages that will offer comfort and support to be treasured in the future.
